10 high-powered loose firearms turned over in Lanao del Norte

Troops of the 5th Mechanized Battalion under the 2nd Mechanized Brigade and the Municipal Government of Nunungan, Lanao del Norte headed by Mayor Marcos M. Mamay successfully facilitated the voluntary turn-over of ten (10) high-powered loose firearms at the Evacuation Center of Barangay Masibay, Nunungan, Lanao del Norte yesterday morning (December 6, 2018).

Turned-over were eight (8) Garand rifles, one caliber 30, and one 40mm grenade launcher.

Also turned-over was one (1) magazine of Carbine Caliber 30.

The activity was witnessed and supervised by 2nd Mechanized Brigade Commander Brigadier General Thomas R. Sedano.

“I commend the troops for this recent accomplishment,” said Lieutenant General Arnel B. Dela Vega. “Team WestMinCom would also like to express our gratitude to the LCEs and other stakeholders for their untiring support to the Armed Forces.”

Turned-over Fas and ammo were brought to the Headquarters of the 5th Mechanized Battalion for proper documentation and safekeeping.
