Two of the Abu Sayyaf bandits were neutralized when they resisted arrest of the elements of the PNP and the Joint Task Force (JTF) Sulu in Barangay Kajatian, Indanan, Sulu at 1:30AM, yesterday (October 10, 2018).
The said law enforcement operation have arrested Lino Tantung, 42 years old; Hamjir Sahidal, 19; Sajiyal Asiral Alamia, 46; and Arajal Amicul Aida, 46. However, two were killed and were identified as Jade Hassan a.k.a Radjik and Kemar Jade.
Recovered from the encounter site were: one (1) 12 gauge shotgun with eight ammunitions; two (2) 45 caliber pistol with two (2) magazines and fourteen (14) live ammunitions.
Also recovered from the possession of Sahidal is one (1) heat sealed transparent plastic with white crystalline substance which is believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as ‘Shabu’.
Firearms and ammunitions were turned-over to RCLO, ARMM-Sulu for documentation and reference while the cadaver of the two (2) ASG members were held for Post Mortem Care and for proper disposition at Camp Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital.
The other apprehended four (4)Abu Sayyaf bandits and the methamphetamine hydrochloride were properly turned-over to the Indanan MPS for further investigation. The said operation is part of the intensified joint law enforcement made by the Joint Task Force of Sulu and Sulu PPO in accordance with the “War on Drugs” of President Rodrigo R. Duterte. This also form part of the sustained effort of JTF Sulu to get rid of banditry and violent extremist groups in the area.
Time again the government forces have given any terror groups two options; one, to lay down their arms and return to the folds of the law or two, fight and deal with the full force of the law. The Joint Task Force Sulu have convinced significant number of Abu Sayyaf who decided to surrender and live a new life. The surrendered Abu Sayyaf members are now being assisted by the government agencies to start anew.
