Two (2) Abu Sayyaf Group members surrender to the troops of the 32nd Infantry Battalion in Talipao, Sulu around 2pm today (December 22).
Ban Abdulbaki, 27 years old and Adih Abdulbaki, 24 years old, both residents of Upper Binuang, Talipao, Sulu and followers of ASG sub leader Idang Susukan, turned over one (1) M16 A1 rifle and one (1) Garand rifle.
The surrender was successfully facilitated by the troops of the 32IB led by Lieutenant Colonel Ronaldo C. Mateo in coordination with intel operatives.
Meanwhile, another Abu Sayyaf Group member submitted himself to the troops of the 545 Engineer Construction Battalion at Barangay Sainsusuk, Maimbung, Sulu early this morning (December 22, 2018).
Alnajir Sajiron a.k.a Putong Asimon also turned over his M16 rifle to the troops.
The successful turnover was a collective effort of the intel operatives and the Bravo Company of the 545ECB.
Sajiron was presented to Brigadier General Francisco A. Felicidario, commander of the 101st Brigade prior his medical check-up and custodial debriefing.
“The Western Mindanao Command calls on the other Abu Sayyaf bandits to voluntarily surrender. Let us end terrorism here in Mindanao in a peaceful way,” said WestMinCom Chief Lieutenant General Arnel B. Dela Vega.
