The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao led by Governor Mujiv Hataman launched an emergency rapid response team known as the ARMM-HEART in 2013. The team extended assistance to more than 100,000 villagers driven away from their homes during the Zamboanga siege in September, 2013 and the thousands of residents in the Visayas region devastated by Typhoon Yolanda, among others.
