The Bangsamoro Transition Authority officially took over the governance of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao in a ceremonial turnover held at the Shariff Kabunsuan Complex, ORG Compound, Cotabato City yesterday morning (February 26).
Present during the historical event were WestMinCom Commander Lieutenant General Arnel B. Dela Vega, Joint Task Force Central Commander Major General Cirilito E. Sobejana and other representatives from the different sectors of the government.
The 80-member Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) officially assumed leadership with Chairman Murad Ebrahim Al Haj of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front as the Interim Chief Minister replacing the outgoing ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman.
The symbolic relinquishing of authority to the new political entity was witnessed by Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace Process Secretary Carlito G. Galvez, Jr.
“With the establishment of the new institution, we are optimistic that more services will be provided to the people of the Bangsamoro,” Major General Sobejana said.
WestMinCom Commander Lieutenant General Arnel B. Dela Vega said that the Western Mindanao Command will continuously do their part in protecting and securing the Bangsamoro people.
