The 601st Infantry Brigade launched an inter-agency task force that will address the peace and security problems in the areas covered by the 40th Infantry Battalion last November 27, 2018.

Abregana and 40IB Commander Lieutenant Colonel Edgar L. Catu.
The IATF “Magiting” aims to strengthen the collaboration between its members in order to effectively address issues and concerns related to peace, security, and development which will be headed by BGen Carreon.
Among those who signed the memorandum were Mayor Zamzamin L. Ampatuan of Radjah Buayan, Mayor Tahirodin Benzar A. Ampatuan of Mamasapano, Mayor Ramdatu M. Angas of Sultan sa Barongis, and Municipal Administrator Datu Sajid Islam U. Ampatuan of Shariff Saydona Mustapha.
Mayor Zamzamin Ampatuan lauded the effort of the 601st Brigade and the 40IB for creating IATF-Magiting emphasizing the need for cooperation and understanding among the local leaders within the cluster so that contingencies during calamities whether man-made or natural can be effectively implemented.
BGen Carreon congratulated the mayors and expressed his satisfaction to the prompt response to this endeavor.
“Calamities can affect everyone in the community regardless of political affiliation or religion and it is necessary that all should set aside differences and unite as one in addressing common concerns,” he added.
The IATF can effectively address issues that are not only confined to peace and order or natural calamities but also on basic issues such as sanitation and health, potable water, garbage disposal, and livelihood programs that would alleviate the plight of communities in the SPMS (Shariff Aguak-Pagatin-Mamasapano-Salbo) box and Liguasan Marsh.
Joint Task Force Central Commander Major General Cirilito E. Sobejana commended the efforts of BGen Carreon and LTC Catu for the creation of the inter-agency task force as it look forward for the coordination and cooperation of the local government officials and the military to mobilize support that will address effectively the problems arising in the mentioned municipalities.
“That is a very laudable accomplishment and may it be a very good example for the other units of the AFP to emulate,” said Lieutenant General Arnel B. Dela Vega.
