Brigadier General Augustus H. De Villa AFP, the newly designated Commander of the AFP Health Service Command, arrived at the Headquarters of the Western Mindanao Command at Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City on 12 October 2018 (Friday) to pay courtesy visit prior to his inspection of the medical facilities and personnel under his authority.
Colonel Leo Peña, the WestMinCom Chief of the Unified Command Staff, received BGen De Villa upon arrival. BGen Divino Rey C. Pabayo Jr. AFP, the WestMinCom Deputy Commander for Operations, later joined them at the command’s Laong Laan Hall.
BGen De Villa, who used to be The Surgeon General AFP before assuming the top leadership of the AFP Health Service Command, emphasized during the said visit that he will try his best to facilitate the enhancement of all the medical and health services for all soldiers [and their dependents] especially those assigned and serving at the frontlines in WestMinCom. He said that, “for WestMinCom, we are now implementing the original medical projects for medical and health services capability upgrade.”
“We will not stop in improving the medical capability of Camp Navarro [General Hospital]. You can count on us for a better delivery of fast, efficient and enhance medical jobs and health services,” BGen De Villa said when asked what Team WestMinCom expects from the new leadership of the AFP Health Service Command.
