The Philippines through the AFP’s Joint Task Force INDOMALPHI and Naval Forces Western Mindanao under the Western Mindanao Command, was chosen as the host for the 4th Trilateral Port Visit and Maritime Training Activity among the Indonesia, Malaysia, and Philippines under the Trilateral Cooperative Arrangement (TCA) which will run from November 27-30, 2018.
To officially welcome the contingents from the Tentara Nasional Indonesia and Royal Malaysian Navy, an Arrival Ceremony was held at the Zamboanga City Pier around 9am today with Zamboanga City Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, who was represented by Attorney Eric Elias, as the Guest of Honor.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Indonesian Head of Mission Lieutenant Commander Ahmad Yunus TNI-AL, Malaysian Head of Mission Commander Azeman Yusoff RMN, officers and men of the Western Mindanao Command and Naval Forces Western Mindanao, and representatives from the different government agencies.
Said activity was followed by a courtesy call of the delegates to WestMinCom chief Lieutenant General Arnel B. Dela Vega at the Laong-Laan Hall, Headquarters, Western Mindanao Command, Calarian, Zamboanga City.
Series of activities such as Capability Demonstration, Day Tour, and Sports events will be conducted and participated by the representatives of each countries from November 27 to 30, 2018 at the Western Mindanao Command area of responsibility.
The activity aims to strengthen the relationship, enhance mutual cooperation, and interoperability of the three countries through the development of combined rules of engagement and foster better understanding and cooperation to address collective issues on shared maritime waters.
