Troops honor slain Sulu blast victims

Five victims of the Jolo blast were honored by military troops in Zamboanga City today (January 29).

Personnel of the Tactical Operations Wing-Western Mindanao under the Western Mindanao Command sent the cadavers of Sergeant Mark Des Simbre, Corporal John Mangawit, Jr., Corporal Minard Ocier, Seaman Second Class Jaypee Galicha of the Philippine Coast Guard, and Leo Herbolayo to Manila and Cagayan de Oro at around 11am today.

The send-off ceremony was held at the Edwin Andrews Air Base in Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City.

Lieutenant General Arnel Dela Vega, the commander of the Western Mindanao Command, said, “We condole with the families of the victims of the twin blasts in Jolo and we will ensure that immediate assistance will be provided to soldiers slain in the said explosion.”
