A values formation and psychosocial activity was initiated by the 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion to address the needs of the 39 NPA returnees who recently yielded to their unit.
The activity commenced on March 5 and will culminate this afternoon at Executive Hall, Capitol Compound, Pagadian City.
The successful conduct of the activity was through the strong collaboration with the Provincial Local Government Unit of Zamboanga del Sur, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Department of Agriculture (DA).
“After returning to the mainstream of society, former rebels have to be indulged in activities like this. Such activity will be of great help to their reintegration,” Lieutenant General Dela Vega said.
